The Sixth Annual Yadkin Valley Grape Festival
will be held on
Saturday, October 17, 2009
11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Although the day opened damp, overcast and cool, the Fifth Annual Yadkin Valley Grape Festival turned out to be a success. Several thousand visitors enjoyed fine wines, great food and wonderful entertainment in Downtown Yadkinville. The Yadkin Valley Grape Festival is free and open to the public, including families with children (for your safety and the safety of others, please leave your pets at home). Vendor displays and music will take place adjacent to the wine tasting area. Food and non-wine beverages will be available for purchase from selected vendors. Wine tasters must be at least 21 years of age (all tasters will be required to show positive photo identification) to obtain a tasting wristband and Yadkin Valley Grape Festival engraved wine glass. Picnic tables will be available and there is plenty of lawn space for blankets. We will be having children's activities going on throughtout the day sponsored by the Yadkin County Smart Start. The Grape Stomp at the Children's area will take place at 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.


The Annual Ginny B. Motorcyle Ride sponsored by Mountain Valley Hospice & David Cornelius will also be held again this year. This ride is to benefit Mountain Valley Hospice and the Hospice Pallative Care Center in Winston-Salem. The ride will be a great scenic route of the country and give you a chance to explore the vineyards of the Yadkin Valley. Please check back for updates on the ride.

WINE TASTING TICKETS: Advance Tickets for the 2009 Festival are priced at $15 each. Tickets purchased at the gate on the day of the Festival are priced at $20 each. See advance ticket order information below, order your tickets now, and save $5 per ticket!

SHUTTLE SERVICE: If anyone is interested in the Chamber providing shuttle service to the wine festival, please contact the Chamber office at (336) 679-2200 to make arrangements. We are providing service from the hotels in Jonesville and Yadkinville only. We need to know what hotel you are staying at and how many is in your group.

PARKING: There will be parking available near the festival. Additional parking will be located at the Post Office lot. If parking is unavailable near the festival, please follow the signs for festival parking and a shuttle bus will be around every 10 minutes to pick up and drop you off at the Festival.

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE 2009 FESTIVAL:
1. Wristbands and wineglasses will NOT be available prior to the 11:00a.m. opening of the Festival
2. To comply with state alcohol laws, all tasters MUST show positive photographic identification at the Ticket Booth in order to obtain their tasting wristband and wineglass
3. For health and safety reasons NO PETS OR COOLERS are permitted on the Festival Grounds!

Wine Tasting Ticket Information & Ordering:

Access to the wine tasting (wristband and wineglass) requires a ticket.
Tickets will be available at the gate on Festival Day, $20 per ticket.
Advance tickets ($15 each) may be ordered in either of the following two ways:

1. "Print and Mail" Advance Ticket Order Form paid by check or money order - click here
NOTE: "Print and Mail" orders postmarked before Friday, October 2- tickets will be mailed to you.
Please bring those tickets for admission.
NOTE: "Print and Mail" orders postmarked between Saturday, October 3 and Friday, October 9- tickets will be at the Will-Call window on the day of the Festival. This will ensure prepaid tickets are not delayed in the mail. Due to potential delays in the postal system, we will not risk having paid tickets not get to you
before the day of the Festival. After October 9, we will no longer accept print and mail order forms.

2. "Print and Mail" Advance Group Ticket Order Form paid by check or money order - click here
In order to receive a group rate ticket price of $12 each, you must purchase 10 tickets or more. NOTE: "Print and Mail" orders postmarked before Friday, October 2- tickets will be mailed to you.
Please bring those tickets for admission.

3. PayPal is available if you would like to order tickets with a debit or credit card. Tickets ordered via PayPal after October 3, 2009 will be available for pickup at the Will-Call window on the day of the Festival.
This will ensure prepaid tickets are not delayed in the mail.
We will not accept ticket orders through PayPal after 12:00 p.m. on October 16, 2009.
